Come travel the newly designated Lincoln Heritage National Scenic
Byway (US-31E/US- 150) to historic downtown Springfield, KY established 1793, where Abraham Lincoln’s parents wed in 1806 in the Beechland area near Lincoln Homestead State Park. Experience Lincoln family and Civil War history in the 1816 Courthouse Lincoln Ancestral Museum (opening late summer). Enjoy a walk across the street to see “In Sacred Union”, the 10’ Lincoln Bronze Sculpture by artist Paula B. Slater located
in front of the Washington County Judicial Center.
Shop our quaint stores, dine in our wonderful downtown and area restaurants and stroll Main Street to view our beautiful historic buildings. Linger in the evening to enjoy one of our many performances by the Central Kentucky Community Theatre, Inc in the Springfield Opera House, circa 1900.
Learn about Elizabeth Madox Roberts, famed author and poet. Take one of our historic walking, driving and barn quilt tours. A scenic drive through the country will take you to Hwy 458 to see the 246’ long 1871 Mt. Zion Covered Bridge. Drive by beautiful horse farms, see our historic churches, enjoy beautiful Willisburg Lake, tee it up for 18 holes at Lincoln Homestead State Park, visit one of our local wineries and embrace the spirit of the nearby Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
